Standard Paper Sizes
Standard 'A' paper sizing is as follows:
A4 - 210 x 297mm (8.3 x 11.7 in)
A3 - 297 x 420mm (11.7 x 16.5 in)
A2 - 420 x 594mm (16.5 x 23.4 in)
A2+ - 432 x 610mm (17 x 24 in)
On every size, the proportion between the width and the height remains the same (the square root of 2).
Print Sizes from A2 Printing.com
Most cameras take photos which have slightly different proportions compared to standard 'A' paper. So, for example, your camera might take photos which when blown up is slightly wider than standard 'A' paper.
For this reason your prints can be printed in one of several ways:
- Cropped
- Stretched
- Proportioned
The first 2, cropped and stretched, both print onto standard sized 'A' paper. This is most useful if you need it in an 'A' size to fit into a frame perhaps.
Cropped means that we will crop the image to fit onto the paper, so you will lose a small amount of your image either at the top and bottom or else at the sides, depending upon the proportions of the image that you send us.
Stretched means that we will stretch the image to fit onto the standard 'A' size page. This is useful if you want to make sure that you do not lose any of the image, but please make sure that the proportions are not too far out or else the images may look stretched.
Proportioned means that we will print the full image on paper correctly sized for the proportions of the image that you send us. So, if your image's width and height is squarer than standard 'A' size, we will print on paper the same width, but not quite as long; whereas if your image is a wider panoramic shot then we will print on standard width, but a longer sheet of paper. Please note that proportioned A2 images can only be printed up to a maximum width of 800mm. Longer images can be printed, but please call us for pricing.
Please make your choice of how you would like you images printed before clicking the 'Add to Cart' button. If you are not sure, then the default, Cropped, will probably be fine, or else call us if you would like some advice.
